Let’s talk
about myself

I am Andrés Gómez Álvarez, a PhD student in Telecommunication engineering at the University of Oviedo, Spain. My main research field is reflectarray antennas, and in particular beam-scanning and multi-beam designs. I am interested in developing, implementing and improving upon existing design methods and algorithms. I also like programming and IT in general, and very often strive to get new skills in those fields too, even if they fall outside my main study line.

I built this website with two goals in mind. The first one is to give me the freedom to present myself with no format or length restrictions in an informal way. The second one is for my own use, as a sort of personal playground. That is, a way for me to test and put to practice different techniques and technologies and improve my use of them. It is also a chance to work with higher-level frameworks and platforms commonly used in real-world production environments.
